SUNDAY SUMMARY

This week has been a fairly chilled week for me. I was in work Monday - Thursday in Manchester and then went to Sheffield to spend the weekend with my boyfriend.

We had such a chilled time together and it makes me so so excited to move back to there for my final year of Uni in a couple of weeks.

We went out for dinner to Nandos on Thursday evening after I arrived and then cooked on both Friday and Saturday night - we had stir fry and enchiladas! It was so nice!!

JOIN ME ON MY JOURNEY FOR THE 5:2 DIET


As of next week, it will be six weeks until my summer holiday and like most of you, I want to be confident in my body and look fab!

I decided that on Monday I'm going to try my luck with the 5:2 diet in the run up until my summer holiday in August.

The 5:2 diet is basically an intermittent fasting diet. You eat your normal daily calorie allowance on 5 days a week and eat 500 calories (about a quarter of your daily allowance) on the 2 fasting days! I think this will work for me as it doesn't feel like it's a diet as such (I may change my mind about that once I get started, but we'll see!) I'm only restricting myself on 2 days a week and because I eat fairly healthy on a day-to-day basis I think it might just work! I like the fact that your fast days don't have to be the same days each week - if I know I'm going out for dinner on a certain day one week, then I won't choose that as my fast day - sounds simple, right?!

I DID IT .. RACE FOR LIFE 2015

So if you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I did the Race for Life on Sunday (21st June 2015) at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.

My mum and I ran in memory of both my Grandad's and my Aunty Marion who have all sadly lost their lives to Cancer. 

I'm hardly the healthiest or fittest person in the world, so this was a challenge for me - but nowhere near as big as the challenge that my grandads and aunty faced with Cancer, so I was determined to sign up once and for all.

I ran the 5K in 37 minutes and my mum ran the 10k in just over an hour. I was so proud of myself because I'd done no training and I'm probably at the worst fitness level I've ever been at so doing it in just over half an hour felt amazing.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!

Today I thought it was only right to dedicate this blog post to my amazing Dad Mick.

It's fathers day today in the UK and I want to take this time to say a massive thank you to my dad for making me the person I am today.

Although we sometimes fight and we don't always get along, I love you no matter what and am so thankful for all that you've done for me and bringing me up to be the best person I can.

Happy Fathers Day - you're my hero!

FATHERS DAY GIFT IDEAS 2015


Fathers Day in the UK is 2 weeks away so I thought I'd share with you some fathers day gift Ideas that I'm thinking of getting my dad.

My dad is an avid cycler so I thought for his main present I'd buy him this cute print that he can put in his office. The print is from EBAY and is only £7. I think it's simple but something that means a lot to him.

FESTIVAL WISHLIST 2015

Unfortunately this year I'm not going to any festivals, but I've been to my fair share of them over the past couple of years! I think festivals are one of the most loved events of the year. It's a chance for a variety of people from all over the world to go and enjoy themselves listening to great music and getting drunk!

I've been to Glastonbury a few times, as well as Leeds Festival, V Festival and Wakestock and I like the fact they're all so different. Many of you will be preparing yourselves to brave the UK weather whilst camping in a field during festival season so I thought I'd do a Festival Wishlist post to give you some inspiration if you're stressing out at the last minute.

RECIPE: HEALTHY STIR FRY

Today I'm going to share with you a healthy Stir Fry recipe. Up until last month, I'd never had a Stir Fry before, but now its safe to say I'm obsessed so I thought I'd share the recipe with you all!

WHAT YOU NEED:
♥ Noodles (I like Egg Noodles)
♥ Red Onions
♥ Garlic
♥ Mushrooms
♥ Peppers - or any veg mix
♥ Chicken or Fish
♥ Sweet Chilli Sauce
♥ Balsamic Vinegar

METHOD:
Firstly I browned the chicken in a frying pan with a touch of oil.
