MY POST GYM SKINCARE ROUTINE

One of my new year’s resolutions for 2018 was to take better care of my skin and implement a good skincare routine. I have been increasing my gym sessions over the last few months and noticed my skin feeling dry and spotty so I’ve implemented a post-workout skincare regime designed specifically for after my workouts.

FINDING THE RIGHT WORK LIFE BALANCE

Today's post is all about how to balance working full-time or University and running a blog. I started my blog during my placement year of University so I was working full-time. I didn't post regularly and never really found a routine that suited my work life. When I went back to University for my final year I continued to struggle so I made a real effort to focus on organising my life and have now found a schedule that I can keep up with.

REVIEW: PINK PARCEL SUBSCRIPTION BOX*

Once a month us girls endure the dreaded time of the month and it often comes around and hits us hard. I suffer badly with back pain and severe stomach cramps and sometimes even have to stay in bed all day to sleep it off. None of us look forward to the time of the month and I don't know about you, but I spend the time in pain and thinking about all the chocolate I want to stuff my face with as a little pick me up!

REVIEW: ST TROPEZ SELF TAN EXTRA DARK BRONZING MOUSSE*

If you know me, you'll know how much I love a good fake tan session. I love being bronzed and it makes me feel 100% more confident when I have a tan. I have tried endless brands before; from Bondi Sands, to Loving Tan and St Moritz and I have repurchased the St Tropez dark bronzing mouse a number of times (especially during my university days when it was important to rock a tan on a night out!) I have been eyeing up the new St Tropez extra dark bronzing mousse for a while now and I am so excited to share my review and results with you.

REVIEW: NORDGREEN WATCHES - A DANIEL WELLINGTON DUPE?!*

Classic style watches are very in at the moment. I've seen SO many bloggers and influencers with their stylish Daniel Wellington watches on instagram and I've been itching to get my hands on something similar! I was contacted by a company called Nordgreen who I'd heard of before who sell beautiful minimalist watches with a similar style to Daniel Wellington. They kindly offered to send me a watch and a couple of interchangeable straps and as soon as they arrived I fell in love.

APRIL FAVOURITES

Firstly, soz that there was no March favourites post, but he ho here's a combined March and April favourites. Secondly, why is 2018 flying by so quickly? Does anyone else think that April was virtually none existent? It feels like yesterday I was celebrating my birthday in February and now we’ve officially hit spring (although the weather in the UK is certainly NOT playing ball with us at the moment – where has the sunshine gone?!)

REVIEW: MY FAVOURITE BERRY SMOOTHIE FT LEAN GREENS*

Throughout the last couple of months, I've being consciously working out harder than ever before and am making a real effort to stay on track with my eating. I often find that I don't like a lot of healthy breakfast options and so tend to reach for a smoothie packed full of yummy fruit and goodness. My all time favourite smoothies to make are berry based smoothies, but I think it's important to get your greens in too so I've been adding my lean greens supplement into my smoothies and let me tell you, they taste so good!!
I have never used supplement powders before and I will honestly say I was very sceptical at first. The super greens supplement claims to help you banish your bloating, crush crippling cravings, optimise digestive healthy and give a natural energy boost and I thought it'd be just another gimmick, but I was pleasantly surprised.

SO WHAT IS LEAN GREENS?

Lean Greens is a food supplement company whose produce a range of powders to help with weightloss and bloating. Their products are designed to taste good on their own and are packed with lots of nutrients. The super greens powder is packed full of spinach, broccoli, blueberry and blackcurrant extracts, green tea and lots more. To be completely honest I didn't like the taste of the powder on it's own and would've struggled to drink it every day just mixed with cold water, however mixed into a smoothie it tastes delicious.

I like to mix x2 cups of orange juice, 5 handfuls of frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) and a couple of handfuls of ice with x3 scoops of the powder, then top it up with water and blend. It tastes just like a berry smoothie and you can barely taste the green powder.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH THE SUPER GREENS POWDER
I've been using the powder for nearly three weeks now and I must say I wouldn't miss it that much if I stopped using it. I do feel as though it helped with my bloating, but I still felt hungry (that could be just because I love food) and I didn't like the taste that much. That being said when it's hidden in the smoothie, I'm getting all the added benefits and nutrition without much effort.

My energy levels have definitely increased and I am feeling more energetic when I do a workout in the gym which is making me work harder, so that's definitely a positive.

All in all, I think that the Super Greens Powder is a great easy way to get your greens into your diet and is definitely convenient when you have a busy lifestyle. It does also definitely help to decrease bloating.

The Super Greens Powder is available to buy from their website for £25 or on Amazon here!

Have you tried any lean greens smoothies? Let me know in the comments below.

A Q&A WITH MY BOYFRIEND

I love Q&A posts but I’ve done a fair few of them before and thought it would be a bit different to do one with my boyfriend. If you didn’t know Jay and I have been together for four and a half years now and I thought it was about time he featured on the blog in some way. I’m desperate to do a Primark outfit challenge post where we hit up the local Primark in Leeds and chose an outfit for one another; however he isn’t keen to walk around the ladies section on his own!! Anyway, I have managed to persuade him to join me in a Q&A so let’s get onto the questions…

APRIL GOALS 2018

It's April, which means it's time for the April goals! I love setting new goals each month, it always makes me feel inspired and I'm a lover of a list so we're onto a winner. Anyway, in March I set myself a few goals and I'm so glad I achieved most of them!! I hit over 100,500 page views on my blog, I've been training for my 10k (yep, still can't run very far or fast but it's the trying that counts hey!), I've also been cooking more too which I've really enjoyed. Unfortunately I haven't managed to increase my DA or get all my April content scheduled but I'm half way there so I'd say we've achieved some good stuff in March don't you think?

REVIEW: LADIES LORUS BLACK LEATHER STRAP WATCH

I've been wanting a classic watch to wear at work for a while now and had been debating whether to buy the ever so famous Daniel Wellington watches or try something different.

I've had a Michael Kors Rose Gold watch for years now and I love it so much but it's so heavy and I much prefer to wear this on a night out rather than during the working week. I searched the internet for classic and simple style watches and decided on the Lorus Black Leather Strap watch which my mum and dad kindly bought me for Christmas.

I love Italian food, it's probably my favourite cuisine actually and I love making bruschetta when I'm feeling peckish and fancy something filling yet healthy(ish). MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE & TOP TIPS

As some of you will know if you follow me on twitter, back in November I finally passed my driving test!! I won't bore you with the finer details about how I only passed at aged 23 but in short, I did a couple of lessons back in my second year of uni when I went home for the Easter break and really enjoyed them. I liked my instructor so wanted to wait to continue my lessons at home however I never spent enough time back in Liverpool to keep at the lessons so it came to a stop. I was lucky enough to be given a bonus at work so I was able to pay for some driving lessons in Leeds and it went from there; 6 months later I've finally passed!
