So if you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I did the Race for Life on Sunday (21st June 2015) at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
My mum and I ran in memory of both my Grandad's and my Aunty Marion who have all sadly lost their lives to Cancer.
I'm hardly the healthiest or fittest person in the world, so this was a challenge for me - but nowhere near as big as the challenge that my grandads and aunty faced with Cancer, so I was determined to sign up once and for all.
I ran the 5K in 37 minutes and my mum ran the 10k in just over an hour. I was so proud of myself because I'd done no training and I'm probably at the worst fitness level I've ever been at so doing it in just over half an hour felt amazing.
It's now spared me on to get my act together and get fit again, because I really enjoyed it!
If you've never done a Race for Life before then I definitely urge you all to go and do one. It's a great day, full of inspiring women who have either battled the deadly disease themselves and come out fighting, who have lost someone from Cancer or who are currently fighting the disease.
You can sign up to the 2016 Race for Life here.
If you'd like to donate to my just giving page it's still live now https://www.justgiving.com/katherinedolan7/, any donations are hugely appreciated.
Have any of you ever ran the race for life before?
