JOIN ME ON MY JOURNEY FOR THE 5:2 DIET

As of next week, it will be six weeks until my summer holiday and like most of you, I want to be confident in my body and look fab!

I decided that on Monday I'm going to try my luck with the 5:2 diet in the run up until my summer holiday in August.

The 5:2 diet is basically an intermittent fasting diet. You eat your normal daily calorie allowance on 5 days a week and eat 500 calories (about a quarter of your daily allowance) on the 2 fasting days! I think this will work for me as it doesn't feel like it's a diet as such (I may change my mind about that once I get started, but we'll see!) I'm only restricting myself on 2 days a week and because I eat fairly healthy on a day-to-day basis I think it might just work! I like the fact that your fast days don't have to be the same days each week - if I know I'm going out for dinner on a certain day one week, then I won't choose that as my fast day - sounds simple, right?!
I just thought that I'd give it a go and see if it works, whilst keeping up with my exercise.

I want to increase my workout during the next six weeks in the run up until my holiday, as well as doing the fast diet, but I've said to myself that I won't exercise on the 2 fast days because I'll have low energy levels and therefore I won't work as hard as I can.

I'm definitely excited to try this diet out and loose these last couple of pounds before my holiday. I'll be doing an update every 2 weeks until I go away where I can show you my progress too, so make sure to follow me on Bloglovin for updates.

I basically want to look like this again!

If any of you have followed the 5:2 diet before, I'd love to know what you thought of it and if it worked for you, so make sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. I'm on the 5:2 at the moment and I love it. It's really hard at first but I've found that its gave me a better relationship with food. On my normal days now I don't feel like I need to eat the world and it's getting so much easier!

    1. I was reading your post the other day and that's what's inspired me to give it a go! I don't eat badly but I sometimes pig out and have bad days and then I just get out of the loop, but I think this will help to keep me on track!! I can't wait to give it a go! :) XX
