1. Meal Planning

When I move back to Uni I'm going to try and meal plan. I did this whilst I was living on my own during my Placement Year and I saved loads of money by just planning what I was going to eat during the week. I used to waste SO much money on food, whether it was buying crap because it was cheap or buying more food because that'd what I'd fancy at the time. Next year in our little flat there is 6 of us and we've decided to cook as a family as much as we can so I think meal planning will really help us all stay in budget and we can only buy the food we actually need.
2. The Money Jar

My brother came up to me before and said: "Kate, Guess how much money I saved from the money pot I had this year, I had £50 and I even spent loads of it". That's me sold. This year at Uni I've decided I'm going to have a little pot and after every night out I'm going to put all the change in the pot and hopefully start saving some money!

3. Start Selling on eBay & Depop

I've used eBay (my username: ksquaredFhs) in the past and found that it's a great way of selling unwanted clothing/shoes/items. Depop is one of the newer apps and I've recently put a few things on there (my username is: @katherinee17) I'm determined to get back into selling again as I've got so much stuff I want to sell. The only downside is how time consuming it can be!

4. Buy food on offer

In my final year of Uni I never bought bread unless it was in the reduced section because I just froze it and then used it as and when I needed it. It saved me so much money buying food that was reduced - we used to go to the shops around the same time each week (something we liked to call "reduced goodies time"). Seriously, it's worth it for that extra money to spend on nights out!!
