As some of you may know if you follow me on twitter I recently went to V festival down in Chelmsford and had the best time ever! It was honestly so much fun! Although I'm a real girly girl and yes I had my nails done for the occasion, I do love a good festival and have been to a fair few over the years. I'm certainly not a fan of the vile portaloo's and the fact that the closest you'll get to a shower and feeling clean is by using a whole pack of baby wipes however I can overcome that for a few days camping in a field with great company and fab music along the way.

On Friday morning we packed up the car and set off to Hylands park down in Essex - of course with wellies and waterproof coat in tow. We spent the first evening down at the radio 1 stage after setting up camp and having our own little BBQ accompanied by a strongbow dark fruits or two. We then wandered back to the tents, got ready for the night and settled down for a rather uncomfortable sleep in our tents in the freezing cold (my air bed also deflated which of course made the whole experience 100% better :| )

Day 2 was rather windy so we got up early, bacon sarnie in tow and got ourselves ready for a day of music, cider and chilling.

I'm not going to lie, I always feel like shit when I wake up at festivals and it's usually only after I've brushed my teeth that I feel raring to go and fresh so I was ecstatic when I was kindly sent a sonic toothbrush chic before V festival to try out. First of all, can we all just appreciate the colour (rose gold - it's already a winner in my eyes!) It's actually a fab travel size toothbrush which was perfect for me at V festival and it comes with a lid too which means the bristles are protected in your bag. At only RRP £14.99 from Boots it is compact and lightweight with the power of an electric toothbrush. It has two settings and also alerts you every 30 seconds when you need to move to another section of your mouth to clean and is powered by a USB rechargeable battery so I didn't have to worry about it needing a charge whilst I was at the festival because I had my USB phone charging power bank.

After getting ready for the day, we headed out and saw some great music and after lots of food and alcohol and another little freshen up plus a shit load of glitter later we headed back out to see Faithless perform (yes - I did choose faithless over the beibs, don't hate me, they were amazing!)

After a great day, the hardcore lot of the group headed out to the silent disco which I must say was my favourite part of the weekend. I'd never done one before and it was so much fun - I highly recommend if you've never done it before!

Sunday day was beautifully sunny and for our festival group it was the famous "wig and glitter day". As you can imagine we drew a lot of attention to ourselves wondering around the site with wigs ranging from green, to blue, to orange to silver. We looked somewhat interesting to say the least!!! We spent the day enjoying the sunshine, eating noodles and cheesy chips and drinking cider and finished off the weekend by listening to Craig David's set in the dance tent (probably my highlight of the weekend - he was so good!)

We all had such a good weekend and I would definitely recommend going if you've not been before. The only thing that wasn't fun was being stuck in the car park for 3 hours on Monday morning. All in all though it's a must do!

Have any of you been to V festival before?
