
GET YOURSELF A HOT WATER BOTTLE
Ok, so for me, a hot water bottle is an essential for helping me through my periods. I get bad cramps that fluctuate between my stomach and my back so having a hot water bottle to sooth this is key. I also like to hug a pillow as this eases the pain (whether that's psychological or not!)
TREAT YOUR SKIN
During my time of the month, I ALWAYS get bad breakouts and my skin becomes even more dry than usual. It's so important to keep your skin looking healthy and hydrated because it won't only help you feel better but it'll make you look more refreshed when you feel like shit. I like to drink lots of water with lemons and treat myself with face masks. My favourite beauty product at the moment is my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream = it is the best!
EAT AND DRINK LOTS OF NICE THINGS
Let's face it periods make you feel like shit and I know that when it's my time of the month all I want to do is eat chocolate and cry and that's ok. Most of the time I like to get cosy in my dressing gown and drink lots of cups of tea and eat biscuits or chocolate but on the other hand sometimes I actually feel worse for eating shit and therefore like to have nice salads and lots of fruit. It really just depends on my mood!
RELAX
The most important thing about the time of the month is making sure you relax and have your "me time". I enjoy having baths, and yes I know people think it's gross but sometimes a bath is just what's needed. It really helps sooth the pain and then I instantly feel fresher too! Like I said before, I love a good face mask and add some candles and voila, perfection! I find I get such bad mood swings during the time of the month so it's important to have my me time and not beat myself up about being a bit cranky. At the end of the day - we're all human!
