NEW YORK TRAVEL GUIDE: MY PRE-SUMMER HOLIDAY PAMPER ROUTINE

As part of my beauty prep for New York I thought I'd share with you had I pampered before the trip.

TAME THE BROWS
I don't like letting anyone else do my brows, ever. I have had the HD Brow treatment once and it was really good and my brows looked fab but I just prefer to do them myself. Before New York I will just be tidying them up and plucking any stray hairs.

PREPARE THE SKIN: EXFOLIATE
The first step in my skincare preparation regime is to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. There is nothing worse than getting to the all important hair removal stage and having ingrown hairs on your legs which makes for an uneven shave. I use a exfoliating glove with my soap and glory scrub. I always tend to exfoliate 2 days prior to applying my fake tan too so it goes on as evenly as possible (we don't want no streaks now do we?!)

NOURISH THE SKIN: MOISTURISE
I always moisturise my body after a shower and I use the soap and glory body butter. Ahead of tanning I only moisturise the elbows, feet, knees and hands. Once I've applied my fake tan and then washed it off, in order to keep in streak free I then use a gradual moisturiser tan after showering.

SMOOTH OUT THE SKIN: REMOVE BODY HAIR
The day after exfoliating I will shave my legs. Ahead of a summer holiday I will sometimes go for a wax but it's so expensive I usually opt for shaving. I use conditioner on my legs whilst shaving and this usually makes my legs a lot smoother.

BRONZE THE SKIN: APPLY FAKE TAN
I love being tanned, it makes me feel happier (and skinnier - BONUS!) and I mean I can't go to New York looking pale as fuck (this is not hating on pale girls - embrace that skin, I just prefer to be bronzed). I use either the Bondi Sands tan or my new favourite; Loving Tan (it's so dreamy!) I apply the tan all over my body and then wait  4-8 hours before washing it off. I usually sleep in it over night and then wash it off the next day. I sometimes do my face but if my skin is dry then I just use a darker foundation instead.

TAME THE FRIZZ: GET THAT HAIR SORTED
Before a big holiday I like to treat myself to a hair cut (I know who do I think I am, I'm not a bloody multi millionaire!) I rarely get my hair cut because I think it's just such an expense but this time It needs doing so I'm going for the chop on Saturday. I'm kind of scared and excited. I love long hair and I've waited so long for it to grow however it needs a cut and I cant be arsed to deal with the split ends anymore.

PAINT YOUR NAILS
I get my nails done professionally and I have acrylic tips put on. It's my monthly treat to myself! For New York I decided to get an ombre design and I love it, it looks fab with a tan too. For my toes I do my own gel nails so I usually do them the night before I exfoliate as I know they last forever. I went with a glittery silver colour this time and I love it.

What do you guys do before you go away?!
