I’ve officially lived away from home for nearly 5 years now. I cannot believe how fast that's gone, ew I'm getting old too quickly! For 4 of those 5 years I lived either with friends at Uni or on my own in a 1 bed flat and for the last year I've lived with my boyfriend Jay.



I absolutely love having my own space and living with Jay. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I want to kill him but he's a good egg on the whole and I think we make a good team (so cringe)! Since moving out from my family home I’ve learnt so much and so I thought I'd share with you 5 things I've learnt since moving out.




YOUR FLAT WILL COLLECT A LOT OF DUST
I'm not saying that I never cleaned my family home, but honestly you do not realise how much dust collects until you move out into your own home. I swear I wipe down my side table to get rid of dust on a daily basis and by the time I've woken it's gross again. Not fun, it's lucky I live with Jay who's OCD and nice and clean and tidy, so he doesn't mind dusting things down on a daily basis.

WIFI IS THE KEY TO MY HEART
I honestly didn't realise how often I need and use WiFi. When Jay and I moved into our first flat we didn't have WiFi for the first 4 weeks and it was HELL. I know WiFi isn't all that we need in life but it is very hard to live without. We didn't really know what to do with ourselves, which is a sad reality really.

DECORATING IS MY FAVOURITE HOBBY
Ok, so I am obsessed with buying cute home decor for our flat. If I walk into the Primark home ware section I can't walk out without making a purchase. I find it so difficult to decorate rented accommodation and I am so excited to get a house and actually start buying things to put in our proper home that we own but for now, I still love buying lots of cute decor.

I LOVE COOKING
Since having to cook and fend for myself, I've really fell in love with cooking. During the week my boyfriend and I usually take it in turns to cook our meals and then on a weekend we will cook a meal together. I like to plan our weekly meals on a Sunday and do a big Aldi shop and then we're sorted for the week.
