THE BLOGGING EQUIPMENT YOU NEED.

In hindsight all you need to blog is a laptop or phone and your ideas however there are some items that you can use to help make blogging easier and help develop better content too. When I started my blog over 3 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing! I just wanted to write my thoughts down somewhere and be part of a community I'd loved for so long. All I had was my blogger account, my iPhone 5 and a notebook and away I went. Now I'm not saying you need to have the best cameras and a Macbook Pro to blog because that's not true, there is no right or wrong to which equipment you use. However I thought it would be nice to share with you what I use to run my blog now that it's evolved over the years.

TECHNOLOGY

Laptop
I'm not one of those bloggers who has the top of the range Macbooks; I simply use my trustee old laptop which I've had since I started Uni. I use a Asus netbook pro which is a small sized laptop and great for travelling. I use my laptop daily for writing posts, scheduling social media and responding to emails and it's done me well so far. It might be on its last legs but it's surviving!

Host Site
I've always used blogger to host my blog and I love how easy it is to use. It was the simple choice for me as wordpress seems way to complicated for my liking and I'm too scared to make the leap now! I like how you can customise templates and make it look personable to you. I bought mine from Pipdig who offer affordable templates and even install them for you too. I've purchased my domain name from Go Daddy too which enables me to become self-hosted rather than through blogger.

iPad
My iPad is like my mini laptop and I take this with me everywhere. It's great for writing blog posts on when I don't want to lug my laptop around. I also like to read my favourite blogs on it via the bloglovin app when I'm in bed or on the go.

iPhone
Like most bloggers, I'm always glued to my iPhone. I am constantly scrolling social media and uploading Instagram photos or responding to emails. If I'm on the go, I sometimes take my photos on my phone and I use apps such as VSCO to edit my photos. I also sometimes make blogging notes on my phone too if I think of an idea off the top of my head.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I recently purchased the Olympus Pen E-PL7 with the 14-42 mm lense and I am so excited to start using it properly. I feel like one of the main things letting me down with my blog is the quality of the photos. Although the iPhone quality is ok, it's not the best and this is my chance to really improve. I love how the camera also has built in WiFi too which means I can upload the photos straight to instagram. I have also booked onto a photography course to help me learn more about the camera and how to use it effectively, so I might share my experiences on that soon if you'd be interested?

Along with the camera I bought a tripod which I am going to use when taking flat lays. It's a great size and is portable so I can take it anywhere with me and adjust the size to suit me and the space I'm in. You obviously also need an SD card too in order to store the photos. I've got lots of them lying around as you can never have enough!

EXTRAS

For me I couldn't blog without my notebook. I take it everywhere with me and jot down all my ideas in it. I also take my diary everywhere too and that's where I schedule the posts and plan out when I'm going to post what etc (this helps a lot when I've got sponsored posts that need to go up at certain times).

PROPS

If you've not seen my blog post about my photography backdrops then go and check it out. I've got three designs; marble, wooden floor effect and brick. I use these as a backdrop for my photos and I also like to add textures with blankets, jewellery, ribbon and confetti.
