Anyway, I thought I'd bring back the monthly favourites in 2019. I love reading these types of blog posts and I missed doing them last year when life got in the way, but I thought along with my weekly posts on the blog this year, each month I'll do a extra post featuring what I've been loving from the month before. So here goes!
LIFESTYLE
Slimming World:
I rejoined Slimming World in January to try and 'get back on it' and start feeling better in myself. I have been following it for around 6 weeks now and I've been loving it. So far I've lost 10lbs in 4 weeks and have been really enjoying trying new meals and being more conscious of the food I'm eating. I will be uploading a 'What I Eat In a Week' post in the next few weeks so show you some of my favourite meals!
Dublin
In early January Jay and I spent a weekend in Dublin along with our two friends Chloe and Jack. We actually turned up to surprise Jack and it was such a fun weekend. We love spending time with them both and to do it in a city we'd never been to before drinking lots of Guinness and eating yummy food was the perfect start to January! You can read all about what we got up to here.

Blogging
Towards the end of 2018 I fell out of love with blogging. It started to feel like a very pressured environment and I felt like I needed to post x3 times a week and it got too much alongside having a life and working full-time. I decided that in 2019 I'd take the pressure off and strip it back. When I started this blog I did it because I enjoyed it and it is honestly one of my favourite things in the world. I love interacting with you guys and seeing you comment on my posts and following means so much. I want to stop comparing myself to the very successful, amazing bloggers and post content I love to post. I want to write about the things that I want to read and if people don't want to engage then that's fine. I have now committed to posting once a week with the odd 'surprise' post so that I can concentrate properly on my writing, have time to spend with friends and family and less pressure to always be present in the online world. I am enjoying it so much more and feeling so inspired. I love chatting to other bloggers on Instagram and sharing the love!
Netflix and BBC Series'
Throughout January Jay and I have been binge watching lots of series. It's no joke, we've literally watched like 5 series. Some of my latest favourites have been:
- The Bodyguard
- Killing Eve
- You
- Sex Education
- Luther (this this is possibly my favourite)
What are your current favourite series? Have you got any recommendations?

BEAUTY
Ardell Demi Wispie Lashes
Ardell sell my all time favourite lashes. I love the Demi Wispies and I always repurchase and use them over and over again. I love the length of them; they make your lashes look fuller and your eyes more elongated but they don't look too heavy and 'fake'. I wear them day-to-day, on a night out and could wear them all day every day if that was acceptable at work! I think they look so nice and I don't think I'll find another brand to replace my favourites!
BodyShop Oils of Life Facial Oil
As some of you will know, I suffer from really bad dry skin. I have it all through the summer and winter but it's definitely so much worse during the colder months. I have tried lots of different creams and some work well but I always find that they don't sink into my skin enough to give it the hydration it needs. I've recently rediscovered my BodyShop Oils of Life Facial Oil that I found in the back of my skincare stash and am SO happy I did. This oil makes my skin so soft and gives it the nourishment it really needs in the cold weather. Read my full review here.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream
It's no surprise that this baby is featured in my favourites again. By far my all time favourite product; a holy grail and handbag staple. This cream is literally a skincare savour. It helps my dry skin, and is so versatile. It's definitely worth the money and I will forever be repurchasing it. Thank you Gabby for introducing me to it! Read my full review here.
FASHION
Alpine Cable Knit Grey Faux Fur Bobble Hat - Home Bargains
Throughout the colder months, all I've been wearing is layers, layers and more layers! It's way to cold to look fashionable so the only fashion favourite this month is my bobble hat which has been keeping my head nice and warm during this snowy/sleet. I picked it up at Home Bargains for only £1.99 and it's so warm and cosy. Definitely an amazing bargain and wardrobe staple during the winter!

I’m definitely taking the pressure off blogging this year and it already feels so much more relaxed meaning I can create better content! It’s definitely the way forward otherwise you just end up not enjoying it x
ReplyDeleteYeah definitely, I enjoy it so much more when there is less pressure. It's definitely better to engage with your followers/subscribers too rather than pushing out content that isn't up to scratch just to try and up your following.
DeleteLoving blogging at the moment :) XX
