5 FESTIVAL MAKEUP LOOKS

[This post contains gifted items]

Now the Coachella has been and gone and we're fully emerged in Festival season I thought there was no better time than to do another post in the festival series (there is already a festival essentials post live). Festival makeup looks are such a big deal at festivals and there are so many amazing looks out there that talented MUA's create every year so I thought I'd share with you 5 makeup looks for those of us who aren't makeup artists but want to look cute at festivals. I was also recently sent some different styles of lashes by Eylure from the team at FalseEyelashes.co.uk* so will be showing you how I style some of them throughout this post along with some of my other favourite lashes! If you like any of the lashes featured in the post make sure you use code LASH10 for 10% off your next online order!

1. Bright Makeup and Starry Eyes

Normally when I do an eye makeup look I like to opt for a gold/brown smoky eye which is in my comfort zone and a staple look for me but when you're at a festival, there is no better place to try a new look and use the bright shades in your eye shadow palettes. For this look I have used my Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 Eyeshadow palette (full review here) and created a purple/pink smokey look. I then used this gold star confetti under the eyes and applied them with some eyelash glue. To complete the eye look I applied the Eyelure texture lashes in 117* which are pre glued-so amazing for festivals. They look natural but give the appearance of length and are the perfect addition the the look. I was kindly sent these lashes from the team at falseeyelashes.co.uk and have been wearing them so much recently. I love the Eylure lash range.

2. The Glitter Highlight

This look is a longstanding festival look and one I always go back to; it's the festival glitter highlight. I love that this look can be quite subtle as you can still have neutral eye makeup but use the glitter as a pop of colour. It's even a great one to get rest of your group involved with (even the boys!) For this look I've decided to do a neutral brown smokey eye and added a red and blue glitter highlight. For lashes, I've decided go use my Eylure Exaggerate lashes in style 141* to add a bit of definition to the look and have gone with glowy skin and a red lip. These colours really make my eyes pop and the lashes are so fluttery and long, I am in love with this look, it's definitely my favourite!

3. Bronze Eyes and Glitter Inner Corners

Golden/Bronze/Orange eye looks are my absolute favourites for summer. I always reach for my OPV Beauty palette as it has the nicest bright orange/red shades and is my "go to" for creating a sunset eye look! For the glitter inner corners I have used the Primark eye pigment in the gold shade and used my Primark eye shadow stick over the top to make the glitter pop! For lashes, I've gone for the Eylure Intensify lashes in 100* to add a bit of length but kept it natural as the glitter is the statement and I've also used my Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara to add the definition.

4. A Pop of Colour

This look is definitely more out of my comfort zone as I never really go neon with my eye makeup however there is no better place that to try new looks than at a festival. I was inspired by Erin Rose who did a festival makeup look with a pop of neon green and I thought I'd try a look with a bright/bold blue shade. It's not exactly neon but we've gone bright with a bit of glitter so it still counts! I have used the I Love Makeup London Explicit Content Palette and used the blue shades to create the pop of colour in the inner corner with a bit of glitter on top. I've also used my all time favourite Ardell Demi Wispies for lashes and have gone for a pinky/nude lip.

5. Face Gems

The final look is another festival favourite and of course I couldn't leave out the face gems. This is one of those looks where you can go all out and buy the jewel face gems in a set or you could use the star shaped confetti like we used in a look earlier to create a pattern on the face. I picked up these gems in Poundland in the craft section but have used them with some lash glue to stick them down. I have opted for a neutral eye look with a peachy pop of colour on the lower lash line to tie in with the pink and purple gems. To complete the look I've opted for my Ardell Demi Wispies again and have gone for a nude lip.

  1. I love your makeup looks in this post! Especially the Bright Makeup and Starry Eyes look. I'm not super adventurous with my makeup but I definitely think festival makeup is a good way to go a little wild and not feel silly because everyone else is also wearing bright, OTT colours and glitter too haha x

    1. Thanks Gem. I've tried the individual lashes before and they're really good because you can tailor how heavy/natural you want them to look! There's loads on the false eyelashes website!XX
